CURRENT JOB OPENINGS:
JOB TITLE: Intake Specialist/Day Services
REPORTS TO: Director of Sanctuary for Women’s Development, OKC
JOB OBJECTIVE: Provides direct service and support through day services at the Sanctuary for Women’s Development. Conducts intakes with new clients interested in case management services.
The essential job duties include but are not limited to:
- Interact with clients seeking day services.
- Effectively perform Intake interview with clients. Open, maintain and update client files without established time frames.
- Coordinate effective client arrive and appointment processes.
- Assist with signups for various series, e.g. showers, laundry, etc. and supervise the client process.
- Intervene with clients in crisis situations as appropriate.
- Answer and screen incoming calls.
- Keep accurate records, including timely opening of client record in the database and case notes as appropriate.
- Prepare and distribute food pantry and hygiene items as scheduled.
- Provide information and referral as appropriate. Provide emergency assistance based on department procedures when funding is available.
Ancillary functions:
- Pick up supplies as scheduled, e.g., food from retail partners through the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
- Order office supplies and shared items for the department.
- Coordinate with all departments of the agency for efficient and effective use of shared resources.
- Provide assistance with processing statistics.
- Translation for Non- English speaking individuals seeking assistance through case management programs if able.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor based on the needs of the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position may supervise volunteers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- High school graduation or G.E.D., Associate’s degree preferred.
- Must have valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
- Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication, listening, and presentation skills.
- Strong flexible interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with clients, employees and managers at all levels in the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills required to ensure that multiple tasks receive adequate and timely attention.
- Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, parishes, and community.
- Ability to adjust communication style to handle diverse situations.
- Able to function autonomously and be proactive.
- PC literate and proficient. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the following physical activities:
- Able to intervene during crisis situations, including performing CPR/SFA activities if warranted.
- May sit for long periods of time.
- May be required to stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds repetitively
- Ability to drive agency vehicles.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Typical environment is in a face paced center providing direct services to homeless.
- May be subjected to fast-paced decision making, crisis situations.
