OKLAHOMA CITY – Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City will host their second annual “Axe of Kindness” fundraising event at Enid Axe located at 104 Independence Street on Sunday, July 23, from 2:00pm-6:00pm. The fundraising event will benefit Catholic Charities’ regional office in Enid. “This is such a fun opportunity to engage in a friendly competition while making a positive impact on the community," said Stacy Kurtz, director of Catholic Charities’ Enid office. "Not only will participants have a great time trying their hand at axe throwing, but they can also take pride in knowing their contribution will directly benefit Catholic Charities of Enid." The event is open to all ages. Admission is $20 and includes 2 hours of axe throwing. All ages are welcome to this family-friendly event. Participants can expect plenty of axe throwing and other games including pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, corn hole and a plethora of other activities.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase and will include prizes such as a Blackstone Griddle. Attendees can also purchase nachos for $5, with all proceeds supporting the valuable work carried out by Catholic Charities of Enid.
Catholic Charities serves the Enid area with program services such as emergency rent and utility assistance, case management, counseling and various other walk-in services.
Kurtz, who has served the Enid location for over 20 years, recognizes the growing need for case management in cities and towns outside of Oklahoma City and in Tulsa.
“It’s so important to have accessible case management in rural areas of our state. This fundraising event will also help highlight the services we have available in the Enid area. Not only will participants have a great time trying their hand at axe throwing, but they can also take pride in knowing their contribution will directly benefit Catholic Charities of Enid."
